Discover the Secrets of Milele Safari

Welcome to Discover the Secrets of Milele Safari. Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before confirming your safari booking. By making a booking with us, you agree to the following terms.

1. Booking & Payment

To confirm your safari booking, a 30% deposit of the total safari cost is required at the time of booking.

The remaining balance must be paid before your arrival:

Low Season – March to June and November to 15 December: full balance due 35 days before arrival.
High Season – January to February and July to October: full balance due 45 days before arrival.
For bookings made within 45 days of arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Your booking will be considered confirmed once the required payment has been received and confirmed by Discover the Secrets of Milele Safari.

2. Cancellation & No-Show Policy

We understand that travel plans can sometimes change. Our cancellation policy is designed to reflect the costs charged by lodges, camps, transport providers and other suppliers.

Cancellation charges are as follows:

45 days or more before arrival: No cancellation fee, except applicable non-refundable administration or supplier charges.
45–30 days before arrival: 25% of the total tour cost.
29–15 days before arrival: 50% of the total tour cost.
14–0 days before arrival or no-show: 100% of the total tour cost.

Please note that a non-refundable administration fee equal to 10% of the deposit may apply to cancelled bookings.

3. Baggage Allowance

The safari price includes transportation and handling of one piece of luggage per person, with a maximum weight of 38 pounds (approximately 17 kg).

For safaris involving domestic flights or where vehicle space is limited, luggage should not exceed approximately 30 × 15 × 15 inches.

We recommend travelling with soft-sided bags where possible. Excess luggage may need to be stored at your hotel or arranged separately.

4. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required as a condition of travel.

Your insurance should provide appropriate cover for:

Trip cancellation or interruption
Medical emergencies and hospitalization
Emergency medical evacuation
Lost, stolen or delayed luggage
Personal belongings and other travel-related emergencies

Guests are responsible for arranging suitable travel insurance before travelling to Kenya or East Africa.

5. Flying Doctors Emergency Evacuation Service

At your request and at an additional cost, Discover the Secrets of Milele Safari can assist in arranging temporary membership with an emergency medical evacuation service, such as the Flying Doctors Service.

In the event of a medical emergency, the service may provide evacuation from the safari area to an appropriate medical facility.

Please note that emergency evacuation membership does not normally cover:

Hospital treatment or medical bills
Personal travel insurance claims
Repatriation of remains

Guests remain responsible for all medical and hospital expenses not covered by their insurance or evacuation membership.

6. Liability

Discover the Secrets of Milele Safari acts as an organizer and agent for services provided by independent third parties, including accommodation providers, airlines, transport companies and other suppliers.

While we take every reasonable care to provide a safe and enjoyable safari, we cannot accept responsibility for personal injury, illness, death, accidents, delays, loss, damage or other irregularities caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

This may include, but is not limited to:

Weather conditions
Road conditions
Wildlife encounters
Flight delays or cancellations
Accommodation overbooking
Strikes or industrial action
Government actions or travel restrictions
Acts of God or other unforeseen events
Acts or omissions of third-party suppliers

Any additional expenses resulting from such circumstances shall be the responsibility of the guest where applicable.

7. Unused Services

No refunds will normally be given for:

Missed activities or game drives
Unused accommodation
Unused meals
Missed transfers
Early departure from the safari
Any unused portion of the itinerary

Once a safari has commenced, refunds cannot generally be provided for services that are voluntarily unused.

8. Changes & Alterations to Your Safari

Although every effort is made to operate your safari according to the confirmed itinerary, Discover the Secrets of Milele Safari reserves the right to make reasonable changes where necessary.

Changes may be required because of:

Weather or road conditions
Wildlife movements
Safety concerns
Changes by accommodation providers
Flight schedules
Government regulations
Other circumstances beyond our control

Where possible, we will provide a suitable alternative. Any additional costs resulting from changes beyond our control may be passed on to the guest.

We also reserve the right to refuse participation or remove a guest whose behaviour may endanger themselves, other guests, staff or the successful operation of the safari.

9. Shopping & Personal Purchases

During your safari, you may have opportunities to purchase local crafts, artwork and other products.

All purchasing decisions are entirely the responsibility of the guest. We recommend checking the quality, price, seller and shipping arrangements before making a purchase.

Discover the Secrets of Milele Safari is not responsible for:

The quality or authenticity of purchased goods
Damage to purchased items
Shipping delays or costs
Lost or undelivered purchases
Disputes between guests and vendors

Please purchase only when you are satisfied with the item, price and terms of sale.
